Overview
The X.PORT PC2 adapter, product code XP8784,
is an intelligent ISA bus card with 1/2 Mbyte of memory supporting 2
synchronous X.25 ports which can either be used as V.24
or X.21 configurations, no external pods are required. Line
speeds up to 512 Kbit are supported when used with the X.25 Runtime
software.
A dual cable is supplied with the product with V.24 and X.21 interfaces.
Software drivers with X.25 support which are available for Windows
NT, DOS and Real/32 are ordered separately, see X.PORT
product range for the list of options available.
Features
- Flexible line interfaces

Depending on the cable fitted one of
the communications ports can be configured to either V.24
(RS232C) or X.21 (V.11), the second port is fixed as V.24 (RS232C).
The card is supplied with a 1 metre 2 port cable featuring one X.21
connector (male 15 pin D type) and one V.24 connector (male 25 pin D
type). Cables are also available for 2 V.24 ports. No
external pods are required for X.21 support, see cables
for further information on the options available. All ports support
optional software configurable internal
clocks with speed ranging up to 512 Kbit, no
special cables are required.

The X.PORT PC2 card is approved for use
in Europe, the USA and most major countries world-wide.
- Intelligent Card

The card utilises a 80186 processor with
1/2 Mb of memory to run the communications software, this reduces
the load and memory requirements on the PC. A small driver
running in the PC operating system is required access the card.
